Pricing & Payment

Transparent, upfront pricing with no insurance middleman. Pay for exactly the care you receive.

We're a Cash-Pay, Out-of-Network Practice

We have chosen not to enroll with insurance companies so that we can spend our time on you, not on paperwork and billing codes. Back to Basics Family Practice is considered out of network, and payment is due at the time of service.

If you carry insurance, we're happy to provide a superbill after your visit that you can submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan and is not guaranteed.

Please note: We are unable to provide superbills for Medicare or Medicaid patients. For TennCare and TRICARE Select members, please be aware that TennCare will not pay for prescriptions or referrals sent from a non-TennCare provider.

Good Faith Estimates

Under the federal No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges before non-emergency care. Common Questions

Do you take my insurance?
We are out of network and do not bill insurance directly. Payment is due at the time of service. If you have insurance, we can give you a superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement, though reimbursement depends on your plan. We cannot provide superbills for Medicare or Medicaid.
Why don't you take insurance?
Staying out of network lets us spend more time with you and less on insurance paperwork and billing requirements. It also keeps our pricing simple and transparent — you see exactly what each visit costs, with no surprise bills weeks later.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, all major credit and debit cards, and CareCredit. You can also pay online through our secure payment link above.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, a list of your current medications and supplements, any relevant records from previous providers, and a form of payment for your visit. Payment is collected at the time of your visit.
