The primary difference is continuity of care and the time we can spend with you. At urgent care, you'll see a provider who doesn't know you, doesn't have access to your complete medical history, and typically spends 5-10 minutes with you before moving to the next patient. Our same-day sick visits provide 30-45 minutes with your own provider who understands your health history, current medications, chronic conditions, and personal health goals. We can make more informed treatment decisions, avoid medication interactions, and ensure your sick visit care coordinates with your overall health management. We perform a comprehensive range of point-of-care testing that provides results within 10-15 minutes. This includes rapid strep throat testing, influenza A and B testing, COVID-19 antigen testing, urinalysis for bladder and kidney infections, rapid mononucleosis testing, and pregnancy testing. We also have the capability to perform some basic blood work like hemoglobin checks for anemia. These rapid results allow us to make immediate treatment decisions during your visit rather than asking you to wait days for external lab results while you continue feeling unwell. If more specialized testing is needed, we'll order it and follow up with you as soon as results are available.

A same-day sick visit has a simple, transparent flat price of $125 for patients of any age—no copays and no surprise bills. You know the cost before you come in. The only potential additional expenses would be for prescription medications (which we help you obtain at the lowest possible cost) or if specialized testing needs to be sent to an outside laboratory. Most of our rapid in-office testing is included in the visit price. We do not bill insurance, but if you are insured we can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you're unable to come to the office due to severe symptoms, we can often conduct a telemedicine visit to assess your condition and determine the best course of action. In some cases, we can prescribe treatment based on a thorough phone or video evaluation, especially if we've seen you recently and are familiar with your current health status. However, certain conditions require in-person examination or testing for accurate diagnosis.
